Our dear friend and partner in this web site, Engelbrekt Isfält, suddenly
passed away after a short time of illness. It came as a complete surprise and shock
for all of us. It feels very empty and Engelbrekt leave us with an enormous
feeling of sadness. His contribution to the Swedish society will probably
set its marks for long time to come and proven to be crucial for Sweden and
its future energy development.
His Ph.D. thesis described the optical and thermal transmission of windows,
a very important subject when planning multi-glazed office buildings. Together with Prof. Gösta Brown and Ph.D. Axel Bring, he started with computer simulations of energy transmission and comfort in building constructions, in the late 1950's. A work that we participated in, since the late 1960's. This has been recognized, awarded and contributed to earn Sweden a reputation as the leading country in this field.
We will miss him very much, his modesty, humor, lojality, his
intellect and deep knowledge. He was always a good friend. Our thoughts goes
to his wife Lena, who lost an unique and loving husband.
